William Scott Barber was born January 22, 1944, the third child to Robert and Kathleen Barber. Bill graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Salt Lake City, and obtained a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of Utah. In the early 1970's he was Technical Director for the Pioneer Memorial Theatre, and taught lighting, makeup, sound, and set design at the University of Utah.
